FAQ

When should I schedule my newborn session?

Before your baby is born!  I only book 4 due dates for each month.  This is to make sure I have enough time to fit everyone in, if several babies are born close together.  Your session fee reserves your spot on my calendar.

What clothing should my newborn wear?

I mostly photograph newborns with no clothing at all.  I love to be able to see the fat rolls and hair fuzz.  With that said, if you have a special hat, blanket, cloth diaper, feel free to bring it along.  I also have some accessories that can be used.

How should I prepare for my newborn session?

I know that newborns cannot be on a schedule, so instead of giving a hard session time, I like to give my clients a window to arrive.  It’s best to try to time your arrival with a feeding.  Ideally, you will try to keep your baby awake for an hour prior to your session.  Then when you arrive, you can give your baby a full feeding, and he/she should be tired for a good nap to get photographed.

My son is being circumcised. When should he be photographed?

Because my style is “posed” newborn photography, I am placing babies in a variety of poses.  With a sensitive area, your baby may not be comfortable in these poses.  For this reason, I ask that you wait at least 5 days after the procedure to bring your son in.   (Or to have the procedure after your session.)
